Invodo "Runs for the Water"

12th November 2008

Every once in a while Invodo commits to a fun out-of-office event. While our events almost always end up as something competitive, this month happened to involve a little more pain than we anticipated.

Jason, our office superstar runner, challenged us to enter Austin’s “Run for the Water” 5k race on November 9th. While it not only helped some of us physically to train for such a goal, proceeds for the race were also going to a great cause – the Gazelle Foundation.

We broke into teams and predicted our individual finish times; followed be either chest-pounding bravado by some or a slight concern of heart attacks by others.

It proved to be a beautiful crisp cool morning in Austin, TX with over 250+ runners signed up for the 5k race. Everyone survived, a few we swear took detours, and ALL ended up with some aches and pains by Monday morning.

As it ends up, some of us can run! Way to go Invodo.

  • Jason got 2nd in his age group (8th overall)
  • Jeremy won his age group (10th overall)
  • Amanda got 3rd in her age group
  • Jeremy’s team won the fastest overall time with an average of 27 mins 43 secs.
  • Jason’s team won the closest estimated time – within 2 mins. 41 secs. off their estimate.
